Resarch In Ancient Town Landscape Updated Design Based On The Ecological Concept

In recent years, with the accelerated pace of urbanization, urban expansion, urbanlandscape to the "metabolism" brings an opportunity. As a closely linked with human lifeecosystems, urban landscape construction directly affects the quality of the livingenvironment of human comfort and urban sustainable development. Among them, the ancienttown as a special group of small towns with rich natural resources, a unique culturallandscape, profound traditional cultural background and other advantages, its landscapedesign objectives are both to be beautiful but also highlight traditional cultural characteristicsin order to meet the high-level people requirements.Due to the lack of scientific theories guide and the irrational management of localgovernment, there has been some issues about urban development, like deterioration ofecological environment, local characteristics is weakened. People gradually realized that howimportant it is for urban development. These issues also attracted the attention of experts inrelated fields: issues like how to implement the local landscape update and build ecologicallandscape based on the whole protection of old town for harmonization of traditional andmodern, protection and regeneration, coordination and symbiotic has always been one of thesubjects of discussion in design community in recent years.This paper proposed applying ecological concepts to the construction of urban landscape,combining eco-design and landscape update based on the research for small towns landscapedesign domestic and abroad and problems in ancient towns’ background and development.After in-depth study related to the basic theory of eco-design and summarizing somecommon application techniques as well as a concrete manifestation of typical cases aboutecological philosophy in the modern landscape, we fully grasp the concept of eco-design, andit provides theoretical basement for this paper. it proposed principles adapting to old townlandscape design and explored related factors and means of expression which can highlightthe theme of ecology. Combined with the actual case of the ancient town, Sichuan, analysisedtheir the update local landscape from the point of view of eco-design, detailed analysis theconcrete manifestation of the eco-design in three major landscape areas which belong toecological landscape with “dragon water” theme—Longtan Square, Real Dragon Street,Longtan Lake, summarized eco-design design techniques which have been worth learning in landscape update, and provided reference for similar urban landscape construction:（1）Respect the original terrain, construct ecological revetment, use aquatic plant indecontaminating water, create plant communities, minimize the negative interference of theoriginal ecosystem;（2）Rationally use of local resources, retain the traditional tools having historical valuefor the new landscape, save landscaping materials;（3）Combining local culture, highlighting local characteristics in landscape updating,extracting the cultural connotation in landscape expression;（4）Adhere to both aesthetic and ecological, create a comfortable space for human’srecreation, entertainment and shopping according to the construction of ecological corridorbased on site’s environment.
