Analysis Of The Application Of Ceramic Art In Environmental Design

Ceramic is the business cards of China, the carrier of Chinese history and civilization, and the technology that all Chinese people are proud of. During the history of technological development in China, apart from the "four great inventions", the invention of porcelain receives the most attention of the world."Thin as paper, bright as a mirror, white as jade, sound as a chime", which are describing the porcelain. Ceramic is not only an independent art form, but also a craft decorations that can be well used in the environmental design. Ceramic can resist high temperature and corrosion, and is easy to clean and shape, these unique characteristics make it an integral part of the environmental design materials. Modern environmental design not just focuses on practicality, but also pays more attention to artistic effect. The application of ceramic art in environmental design can realize an artistic effect in this part.The thesis firstly studies the development of Chinese ceramics and deeply studies the aesthetic characteristics of ceramics, and analysis the cultural characteristics of ceramic art and ceramic. By studying ceramic art and ceramic materials, it leads to the advantage of ceramic in Environmental Design. And then we have a further analysis of the various uses of ceramics in interior design and landscape design; and that of the specific case of ceramic art in environmental design and my own participation in the design of pottery fountain cases. Of course, ceramic materials and ceramic is not a panacea. So in the last part we’ll get analysis of the problems of ceramic materials and ceramic art in the use of environmental design, expecting that the designer can understand more about the art of ceramics, and makes full use of ceramic materials and ceramic art in the future Environmental Design.
