Usability design is the old household appliances to consider important factors in thedesign process, with the growing elderly consumer groups, the elderly and home appliancesproducts of usability design is becoming more and more attention.Purpose of this study is that by studying the old people to use household appliances is theexisting problems and analyze the elderly to use household appliances usability factors, so asto investigate the usability design principles theory of household electrical appliances, to theelderly home appliances and ease of design practice, finally come to the conclusion thatreasonable and effective.Based on the analysis and design object to introduce the problems existing in the design,which is to apply the design theory and research on design elements to solve the problemsexisting in the design, use theory to guide practice ideas to explore and grasp the designprinciple of products suitable for the particular consumer groups; Specifically, is the use ofdesign psychology, product semantics and the man-machine engineering discipline theoryresearch as a theoretical support and practical guidance, comprehensive study of the elderlyusing the problems that exist in the process of household electrical appliances, focus onanalysis, induction, summary, and then puts forward the basic principles of design the oldhousehold appliances.Research process, from the aspects of the function of the electrical appliances product,operations, and three aspects analyzes the man-machine engineering Angle, put forwardcomplex operation, idle and voice prompt function recognition, more than one key ismulti-purpose hard memory, key the same easy to confuse, function key focus formationusing problems such as wrong operation. From product function, ergonomics and productsemantics Angle to analyze, draw the use for the elderly people design should be followed inthe household appliances electrical function the priority principle, the principle of electricalusers operating behavior factors, avoid the wrong operation principle (set voice text colorshape coding, barriers to appropriate size) as well as the principle of subsidiary, to improvethe old touch, vision, etc., increase the degree of the elderly home appliances is easy to use).The usability design principle was applied to design of practice proves its rationality.
