With the increasing social needs of today’s world of radio spectrum resources, aswell as rapid development of radio technology and business, the spectrum resourceswe can make use of seems precious. Various radios often interfere mutually, airborneelectromagnetic environment is becoming complicated, radio monitoring task hasbecome increasingly difficult. To improve the efficiency in the use of the radiospectrum scientifically, and maintain good air electromagnetic environment order, theonly way is to take the advanced monitoring means, provide strong support for theradio management technically.According to the needs of the radio frequency spectrum monitoring, this articledesign a software system about radio spectrum management and monitoring. Thesystem can be real-time spectrum monitoring of the radio spectrum signal and gain thespectrum occupancy measurements of spectrum signal monitoring; spectral informationcan be stored according to user needs, user can friendly query and playback of historicaldata; user can also observe of the spectrum signal real-time and monitor the voicethrough client-side.The system software uses C/S architecture. Server-side contains two softwaremodules, one is signal processing module, and the other is network communicationmodule. Network communication module uses a non-blocking mode asynchronoussocket, use windows message mechanism for asynchronous I/O mode, notice messageto a specific network events specified system. Server-side use multithreadingmechanism design, the entire process contain main thread and send thread. Client-sidemainly consists of four modules, the spectrum scanning, spectrum analysis, voicemonitoring and history inquiry, spectrum scanning module includes digital scan,channel scan, band scan three sub-modules. Module software contains the main threadand drawing thread. The spectrum scanning module and spectrum analysis modulesmaintain their own database table, according to user needs store parameter informationin the database, playback historical data by way of querying the database. The spectruminformation is displayed through ActiveX control, control is contained in client-side, display the spectrum monitoring through control. To analyze the spectral informationfor the convenience of the user, display control is not only capable of amplifying andretractable spectral information, and also has Mark function. So the users can monitorthe radio signals anywhere in the case of security allowed, when client-side software isinstalled on PC which establishes a connection with the server-side. In this way, thedemand for personnel can be reduced and the biases of the artificial observation can beavoided. In other case, the monitoring dates are stored into the database, so thehistorical data can be inquired, playback and managed.Today, the system has achieved the spectrum scanning function, spectrum analysiscapabilities and real-time monitoring function of user requirement, and it also hasreached the performance of user requirement. The system can run continuously in astable environment. The stability, accuracy and real-time of the system have been tested,and a friendly interface has been offered to user.
