Electromagnetic spectrum is closely related to people’s life and is needed in mobile communication, SMS messages, television broadcasting, e-commerce, aircraft navigation, and the other new technologies. Due to the senses of human beings can not directly perceive the electromagnetic spectrum, electromagnetic spectrum detection and analysis capabilities are crucial for the management and exploration of electromagnetic spectrum resources.The detection and analysis of the electromagnetic spectrum technologies attracts a lot of international attention. In1970s, it has been used in the field of radio monitoring and management, and then applied to the field of cognitive radio technology in1999, for the purposes of sensing the electromagnetic spectrum environment. However, with the advent of advanced new radio services and increasingly complex environment of the electromagnetic spectrum, the detection and analysis of radio signals meet new challenges.Facing the lack of detection accuracy and detection coverage of the cognitive radio spectrum sensing and current radio monitoring stations, a new type of the multi-sensor electromagnetic spectrum and broadband detection system which meets the needs of cognitive radio spectrum sensing and radio monitoring has become a new trend since2011, and introduces many challenges.This paper focuses on real-time analysis of broadband electromagnetic spectrum and studies several theories, algorithms, mechanism and other aspects of the design of multi-sensor electromagnetic spectrum and broadband detection system. The contents of the paper are organized as following:(1) In the first chapter and second chapter, the development trend of the electromagnetic spectrum detection technology is analyzed, which point out broadband electromagnetic spectrum detection and analysis system is the future trend. Subsequently, the structure and function of the electromagnetic spectrum broadband monitoring system have been discussed, as well as the key technologies of the electromagnetic spectrum and broadband monitoring system. Based on the real measurement data, several methods of predicate spectrum environment are examined. A cooperative propagation model correction method is proved as the best with great accuracy.(2) In the third chapter, three new algorithms for the detection of Chinese PAL-D TV signals are invented. The algorithms not only can detect the presence of TV signals, but also can classify the modulation types of the target signals. The performances of the proposed algorithms are further tested on a broadband spectrum realtime detection and analysis testbed using soft defined radio. The real equipment test results suggest that these algorithms can achieve higher detection success rate with fast speed. Moreover, these algorithms are less complicated and only need small amount of samples.(3) In the fourth chapter, a theory is conducted to optimize the parameters of the multi-sensor electromagnetic spectrum and broadband detection system. Using this theory, a long term short term memory intelligent sweep solution is invented, which can minimize the number of samples and the total sweep time and insure the monitoring accuracy within controllable range. Moreover, the proposed solution can quickly detect spectrum occupancy change.(4) In the fifth chapter, the paper discusses the layout problem of the multiple detection node electromagnetic spectrum broadband real-time detection and analysis system. Hexagon structure is justified as the optimal monitoring network layout scheme, which can maximize monitoring network coverage, while maintain acceptable detection accuracy.Finally, a summary of the paper is concluded in the sixth chapter.
