The cockpit display system is involved in a variety of video signals to the outsideworld. Using and controlling these information, the driver can make a judgment, and asa result to play out of the better man-machine performance. As the modern technologydeveloped, the cockpit display technology has been gone through the era of instrumentand the era of electronic display and the modern world have asked for higherrequirements on the cockpit display.Random scan video signal is an important one on the cockpit display system, andits display and testing is an important task in the research and development of thecockpit display system. The traditional method makes use of the dedicated professionaldisplayer, or directly using the cockpit display system. But this method cost moreexpensive and does not conform to the modular, generic and standardized principles ofATS (Automatic Test System). The ATS commonly used raster scan displayer, like ourVGA (Video Graphic Array) monitor. Therefore, converting random scan signal toraster scan signal is necessary.Our research group aims to design and develop a digital scan converter to convertthe random scan video to the raster scan video. As the converter is one part of the ATS,we will evolve it to ATS through the specific bus interface. Having been reading theprevious research and considering the new requirements, we determine to make theSOPC (System on Programmable Chip) technology as the core of our design. We firstfocus on the converting process. After that we develop the bus interface.This thesis introduces a method to implement the design of digital conversionsystem based on the SOPC technology. After analyzing the system structure of theconversion principle and its working theory, we make the design from the system level,design the whole schematic and make the print circuit board. Using the SOPCtechnology, we debug and test our system in a short time. Our developed system has theadvantage of controllable, easy-to-upgrade, highly-integrated and good performance.
