The solar thermal power system is a new generation system, which uses solar thermal energy for large-scale centralized power generation and will play a great role in the global power industry. And it’s also the energy basement for our country’s electric power industry to achieve sustainable development. The solar thermal power system, compared with conventional energy generation systems based on the oil, coal, has these advantages:the inexhaustible amount non-polluting, wide distribution. The solar energy can be directly developed and utilized, no need of transport, especially suitable for the remote mountain areas lack of energy. However, the solar radiation energy density get on the ground is very low, which also varies greatly with day and night, season, location and is hard to work unsustainably and stably and so on. Therefore scientific technology must be applied to get high solar radiation energy density for human use. Currently solar thermal power system has three main types, and the trough solar thermal power generation is the most mature of a power generation system in technical, which has been achieved commercially. The core components of the trough solar thermal power systems are parabolic trough collectors. The parabolic collector thermal efficiency directly affects the efficiency of the entire plant. Therefore, the research and development of the thermal efficiency of the parabolic trough collector has never been stopped. At present, the thermal efficiency research of the parabolic trough collector is still at an early stage, this article carried out a series useful exploration and research based on summarizing the existing research result.
