Power battery management system is one of the key components ofelectric vehicles, the high-power IGBT and drive motor that generate a large numberof electromagnetic noise is installed in electric vehicle. If you don’t use metal chassiswith power battery management system,, the entire system is difficult to meet therequireme nts of electromagnetic compatibility, more serious may result in the entirebattery management system is not working properly. Because of ventilation, cableconnections, as well as the manufacturing process and other issues, the metal chassisof the inevitable existence of a variety of hole slit aperture is the main factor to affectthe electromagnetic shielding characteristics for the metal chassis.The method of analytical and numerical calculations is the major researchmethod for electromagnetic shielding characteristics of metal chassis.The typicalmethod of analytical method,is Robinson equivalent model method, but this methodcan only be applied vertically polarized wave incident on the front panel of the chassis at the center position when the rectangular opening. This article it is extend ed sothat it can be applied to any situation polarized wave incidence, and so that it can beapplied to any position openings. In this paper, by using the Robinson Equiv alentModel Law and its expansion algorithm, combined with the finite element numericalsimulation analysis of the factors that affect the the metal chassis electromagneticshielding characteristics derived hole slit factors affect the general laws of the metalchassis of the electromagnetic properties. On this basis, the use of the law haveguided the design of the electric vehicle battery management system shielded metalenclosure, and the actual test. The main works in this paper as follows:Firstly,the main sources of electromagnetic interference within the electricvehicles was studied,as well as the commonmode noise and differential mode noisemodel, the coupling path of electromagnetic interference was analyzed too.Secondly,the method combing FEMwith Robinson equivalent model was usedto analysis the relationship between factors such as the hole size,test points and theangle of polarization,and the shielding effectveness.And the relationship between factors that the number of aperture array and the space of apertures,and shieldingeffecttiveness was studied.In addition,the formula of Robinson equivalent modelmethod used in bilateral openings was extended,and it’s correctness was verfied bymeans of numerical simulation method,the formula that of Robinson equivalentmodel method applied to the openings located at any position was extended.Finaly,the method that combing numerical simulation and testing was used toanalysis the radiation characteristic of BMS,and the raltionship between the factorsof slot such as different aspect ratio and different locations, and shieldingeffectiveness was analyzed.In addition,the method inhibit the radiation was studiedtoo.
