Transformer is an important equipment of the electric power system used to measurecurrent, voltage, and its measurement precision and reliability are closely related to the safe,reliable and economic operation of the power system. As power system voltage levels’sconstantly improving and with the aspects of electric power system automation developingand the intelligent requirement unceasing enhancement, there is less and less covering for thedisadvantage of traditional electromagnetic power transformer, so researchers are paying morand more attention to the new electronic current transformer based on optoelectronictechnology. In order to meet the need of the development of the electric power system, thestudy of new type of electronic transformer becomes the hot spot in the research.With thepromulgation and implementation of the IEC61850standard system, we have had clear andaccurate standards and guidelines with the construction, testing and output interfaces ofelectronic transformer. It promoted the development of the electronic transformer and furtherresearch.Firstly, in this paper,we had do some simple introduction with the concept of electronictransformer, the principle and structure, the research background and its domestic andinternational development status. Secondly, in this paper the main research content isintroduced in detail step by step. Finally, summarized the work in this paper and look forwardthe work in the future.Based on the prototype electronic voltage/current transformers has been successfullydeveloped in the laboratory, in this paper, according to the national standard of electronicvoltage transformer and electronic current transformer is required to complete the realizationof the function of the electronic instrument transformer’s data acquisition. Main contentincludes two aspects; they are just the design of hardware section and software section.The design of Hardware circuit mainly includes voltage-follower, signal conditioning,peripheral circuit of the FPGA and design of electromagnetic compatibility, etc, and designtest experiment to test the hardware part.The design of software mainly contains the moduleof the Fir type anti-aliasing filter, the module of UART, the module of CRC check module andthe module of FIFO, etc. All of the modules with different functions are written by VerilogHDL language by using Quartus II software platform, and simulated through the Quartus IIown waveform simulation software, Modelsim software are also used for simulation anddebugging in the course of this research. Finally by analyzing the simulation results, we canconfirm that the design of each function module is correct, and can work normally.
