Thanks to the unique section, which leads to its materials saving character, double archbridge has been widely used. However, due to its own inherent shortcomings, such as theweak horizontal contact and complicated force, most of the double-curvature arch bridgeswould emerging diseases and need strengthening after a long periods of serving.Response to one double arch bridge in reinforcement proposes Core fill and SectionEnlargement combination of increased concrete reinforcement method, and is verified bycomparison of before and after strengthening force which cleverly combines two advantagesand reinforcing effect is remarkable.The major work of this study includes:(1) Summary of the possible diseases that the double-curvature arch bridge could takeand try to analyze the main causes;(2) Analysis of the common reinforcement methods and summarizes the diseases, thetheory, and the successful examples of the different reinforcement methods;(3)Taking a bridge in Liangshan prefecture for example and analyze the various diseasesit could take, and then filters out reinforcement method by Section Enlargement Methodincreasing and Core fill method for concrete section combining comprehensive strengtheningmethod to the bridge diseases.(4)Analysis and comparison of the Finite element modeling data of the bridge before andafter strengthening with the finite element software-MIDAS, perform the Finite elementmodeling calculation for the data with Comprehensive strengthening method and Core fillMethod respectively, and then confirm the correctness and the effectiveness of the method.
