In recent years, there are many successful applications of research on the integrated damping technology in multi-storey, high-rise buildings and bridges. But there are not many correlation studies in large span space structure. At present, it still belongs to the starting stage. Large span space structure is often used in the gym, theater, exhibition center, the airport terminal, hangar and other public buildings. These buildings can be used as the earthquake shelter in the earthquake. Its safety is very important to people’s lives and property. Based on the above reasons, The paper uses large span space arch truss as the research object, studies the damping and isolation effect of viscous damper and lead rubber bearing on this kind of structure, comparatively analyzes the dynamic response of adopting integrated damping technology structure and original structure, studies its failure mechanism and damping effect. It provides reference data for the further study of vibration isolation theory and experimental research. Using the research on vibration isolation technology in home and abroad for reference, the paper studies its application in steel tube arch truss. The thesis mainly analyzes the following contents:(1) It describes the threat to human survival and the great significance of integrated damping technology, introduces the development of vibration isolation technology theory and its present situation of application in spatial structure, introduces the basic structure, influencing factor, calculating model and shock absorption, isolation principle of viscous damper and lead rubber bearing; It sketches the seismic design principles of vibration isolation structure based on performance.(2)Using the structure analysis software SAP2000, the paper established the calculation model of truss arch span of60meters three center circle steel tube. Through the study of structure vibration periods and shapes, the paper obtains the characteristics of mode of structure, the characteristics of stress state and displacement, grasps the dynamic characteristic of structure.(3) Application of plastic hinge theory,comparing with the original structure, damping and isolation structure in Hollywood wave, LWD wave and Shanghai artificial wave. Structure failure modes and failure mechanisms are becoming when its acting along three directions. It is analyze using isolator, vicous dampers and damping effect of arch truss after take integrated damping technology. This paper also analyzes the structure of viscous dampers arranged in different positions and its effect of structural damping.Through comparative analysis of the structure, we may conclude some significant points as follows:(1) Modal analysis shows that structure vibration period is extended after using the integrated damping technology. This can effectively prevent the occurrence of structural resonances. Furthermore, seismic forces are reduced effectively. The period into the plastic stage has been much delayed at the same time. Consequently, it can reduce or avoid destruction which strong earthquake brought to human beings.(2)We can conclude that the original structure, vibration and isolation structure is the same basically in failure mechanism. They are belong to dynamic instability destruction. However, the shock isolation structure has improved the seismic capacity. In short, the overall structure can not fall in the rare earthquake.(3)This thesis verifies the effect which viscous dampers damping system for large span steel arch-truss structure has and also compares the result of using different damper arrangement. All in all, we can conclude that locating damper near the arch foot could have a better damping effect.
