Modern Landscape Project Management Research

Along with rapid development of society and economy in China, the city greening andbeautifying industry rose throughout the country provides an opportunity for the rapiddevelopment of landscape engineering industry. Since the reform and openness, the numberof landscape construction project increases day by day. The more the city landscape develops,the higher standards the landscape project management requires.. However, the scientific andeffective management system has not been established accordingly. Based on this point, theauthor of this thesis summarizes the current main theory system of the landscape constructionmanagement and thinks prospectively.The landscape project management is the extended idea of landscape planning anddesign. It uses the garden construction technology as the media and targets landscapeengineering project management as a systematic and comprehensive research object. It workstwo methods including the project management system and construction technicalspecifications during construction management process. It combines three levels that areadministrative system, situation of market and industry and self-management of corporation.The author also analyzes the four factors of cape lands project management systemregarding: cost management, schedule control, quality regulation and security as systemmanagement methods. And it is studied from five stages: the initial stage of constructionmanagement, pre-planning process, mid-construction process, the post-acceptance processand final custody process. The author combines the above elements with theoretical andpractical investigations and try to make different project management phases echoing withthe corresponding body, even make it possible to refine the management system, achieve thegoal that landscape engineering serves human life, regulate natural ecosystems and promotesocial development functions, combine the different process of landscape construction,design and artistic expression, to explore solutions and ways. The object of this researchpaper is the landscape project and author tries to use management level as the point to cut intothis study.In the process of exploration and research the author integrates PDCA cycle management implementation plan (Plan), the do (Do), the check (Check) and action (Action)process into the garden project management system structure, to improve the management ofthe garden project, and to explore the way of development to the garden constructionmanagement practice in the future.In this paper,42BeiCai, Shanghai neighborhood7to C2-4plots supporting commercialhousing green landscape projects are summarized. And the author explores generalapproaches and the practical measures of the garden project management to comprehendgarden project control, organization and coordination and project planning combined witharchitecture system, the model of a system, two angles, three levels, four factors and fivestages like Shanghai Oriental Pearl Garden construction management architecture modelappears. In this study, the author draws the following conclusions:1.Through the research for the garden’s project management theory, author makes theobjectives of the modern landscape construction management clear and specific. Meantime,author presents the organization system, structure and content, and major types of modernproject management.2.From the view of the system specification author takes four main factors of cost,schedule, quality and safety as a point to cut into standardize the mission targets andapproaches of modern garden construction management.3.With the exploration of standardization trends of the modern garden constructionmanagement technology, the construction management is divided into four stages: planningpreparation, implement preparation, building and maintenance based on the garden projectlife cycle.4.In the actual operation of the garden project management, it mainly depends on theadministrative system of the garden project, standard framework of industry market andenterprise’s management system to guide the garden project management. The authorcombines the actual situation of the garden industry in China with them to solve the practicalproblems faced by the project management.5.For the exploration and study of the modern landscape project management system,the author regards Shanghai landscape engineering management as a case, and macroindustry market as a leading part to summarize management mode from the perspective ofmicro-enterprises’ own management to explore the future trends.
