Urban river is an important part of urban ecological environment, provide material basisand energy exchange for the development of city. At the same time it is also a beautifulscenery line in the city, shows the image of the city. In this paper, through the study on urbanriver ecological design theory and strategy, the analysis of related cases at home and abroadand the field reconnaissance survey and design of Baohe River in Siyang Jiangsu, draw thefollowing conclusions:1. By researching of general situation and measures of South Korea’s cheonggyecheonriver and Beijing Zhuan river, summarizes the preservation of the natural river channelstructure, characteristics and vegetation community, the design method of river compoundsection, multi-level landscape, vertical space landscape and regional culture landscape.2. Through on-the-spot investigation and analysis in Baohe, Siyang, Jiangsu, theproblems including turbid water with poor liquidity, waterfront with insufficient contact,single vegetation along the river with management shortage, a lack of local culture inchannel design and as well as others, have been summarized.3. In the ecological design of Siyang Baohe, using ecological approaches of setting tankand sewage pipe network, growing aquatic plants, creating artificial wetlands, transformingrevetment retaining wall, building green corridors.4. In the landscape design of Baohe river, combined the ecological landscape, hardlandscape and cultural landscape. It emphasized the combinations of ecological managementand landscape design. Realized the complexity of landscape planning.It needs Municipaldepartment, landscape department and water conservancy department work together.
