As the value of land use is increasingly highlighted, the structure height of the building is increasing,the main task of structural design for high-rise building is researching the resistance ability under lateral load, different structural system has a different resistance ability of lateral load significantly.This paper base on a ultra high-rise office building in Nanchang district as a example,which is a38-story building with the total height of139.2m and5-story podium.In the first,based on SATWE procedure,calculating3different structural systems with using the CQC method under frequently occurred seisms,comparing all the control value of resistance ability under lateral load and the total dosage of materials among the3different structural systems, assessing economic effectiveness comprehensively.The final structural system is that the surrounding frame use SRC column on approximate one third of total stories,the other stories use RC column,all stories use RC beam.After selecting structural system,comparing the result of SATWE procedure and ETABS procedure, which is under frequently occurred seisms.Elastic time-history analysis under frequently occurred seisms,unyielding checking calculation under fortification seisms and elastoplasticity time-history analysis and pushover analysis under rarely occurred seisms are carried out in order to evaluate the structural system is meet the general principle of seisms performance design—"no damage under small seisms,repairable under middle seisms, no collapse under major seisms"—or not.The paper emphasize the importance and meaning of applying conceptual design to structural design, applying conceptual design to determine the overall structural arrangement from a unitary perspective,and having a macroscopic control on mechanism of structural damage that is under seisms.
