The battery is an important part of the DC system, as mothball power supply, it canprovide uninterrupted supply for the substation secondary system, emergency lighting,background machine and other equipments, also known as the "heart" of substation.Therefore, the effective monitoring for batteries is very important. However, due to thehuge amount of battery maintenance, backward technology, the ineffective maintenancemethod and other reasons, we can not accurately grasp the operational status of thebattery, and pose a hazard to the safe and stable operation of the system, so theestablishment of the online battery monitoring system becomes particularly important.This article closely integrated battery operation and maintenance, as well as thecharacters of Chengdu grid, by reading a lot of literatures and technical standardsrelated to battery and monitoring systems, based on the research of principle andmethod, take the resistance test theory into monitor technology, in the depth ofdiscussion and analysis, designed the battery monitoring system of Chengdu grid.Through testing and data analysis on site, measurement accuracy and operating status ofthe monitoring system, and battery performance was evaluated. Solve the problem thathas been plagued by the personnel, can’t real-time monitoring and accurately determineperformance of battery. Improve the level of automation, completely changed thetraditional method of battery maintenance. The trial run of the system during normalequipment operation, and reach the intended target, has a great promotional value andsignificance.
