A Study On The Village Morphology Of Qiaoxiang Historical Village In Meixian Area

The morphology this paper study on is not only physical morphology, but thegeneralized morphology which including social history morphology and human activities.The Meixian Hakkas Society and Culture has long been focused by social, cultural,anthropology and Hakkas’ traditional historic village is one of the important study fieldwhich Chinese traditional houses with local architectural theory studies on. The commonobject of these studies provide a good foundation for this interdisciplinary article crossoverstudy.The significance of the case study on Qiaoxiang village primarily in order to pick up thecharacteristics of the micro filter in the distant perspective of macro research or macroinstitute untouchable, which is one of the important starting point and value of case study.Placed Qiaoxiang historical village which combines the common characters of MeixianHakkas area and its unique personality, under the context of integration of raditional cultureand Hakkas culture. Start from the village’s cultural anthropology background, coupled withthe use of interdisciplinary research methods，will promote the research progress of the villagemorphology.Meanwhile，effective theories and concepts must be based on a wide range of empiricalresearch. This paper based on the field surveys, a larger number of historical and culturalanthropology research methods has been used, to revealed the physical space form socialhistory form and human activities of Qiaoxiang historical village. Deep interpretation forQiaoxiang historical village is based on the social historical process and the main cognitiveperspective on the culture of village morphology.Research framework listed as four aspects:(1) Material and spatial morphology of Qiaoxiang village: Physical space form constitutethe salient features of the settlement pattern. Research and analysis of the natural environment,morphology, Village Location, settlement texture and residential areas form elements andcharacteristics of Qiaoxiang historical village based on the field visits, questionnaires andfieldwork methods.(2)Social history morphology of Qiaoxiang village: Focus on the historical, cultural, economic, and cultural aspects, which are easily overlooked in the research of traditionalvillage. Use the methods of local history research, genealogy retrospective to analyze thetraditional practices, regional culture, humanities modality of Qiaoxiang historical village andconcluded the different periods of the history of the village form of society.(3)Human activities of Qiaoxiang village: Analyze the characteristics and spatial form ofhuman activity of Qiaoxiang historical village. Summed up the main content of the productionactivities, social activities, intercourse activities and space features, and the reaction of thesehuman activities on the village form.(4) The cultural interpretation of Qiaoxiang village: Make the cultural anthropologyinterpretation and the overall qualities summary of Qiaoxiang historical village based on theacknowledge of physical space form, social history form and human activities.
