Unmanned helicopter is controlled by remote ground stations or onboard computercontroller and has the ability of take-off and landing vertically. It is widely used in industry,national defense and scientific research. Unmanned helicopter is a complicated nonlinearcontrol system and contains multi-variable, strong coupling and time-varying. As the flightcontrol system has the high requirement of stability, mobility and real-time, the controllerdesign and implementation would be very challenged. In order to verify the controlalgorithm effectively and reduce research cost at the same time, it is very important todevelop a set of simulations system to simulate the real condition of unmanned helicopterflight.It can realize the controller parameters adjust, flight path planning, flying curveoptimization.This paper designs a set of unmanned helicopter hardware circuit simulationsystem based on FlightGear, and realizes the control for the flight control system effectivelyin the simulation system.Firstly, through introduce the basis of the unmanned helicopter system, the purpose ofthe hardware circuit simulation, and the expected results, we realize the hardware circuitdesign of the simulation system.Secondly, analyzes the mathematical model of the unmanned helicopter, designs theflight control system and ground station. Analyzes the system through building thesimulation model on FlightGear and MATLAB, builds the3D model of unmannedhelicopter and the flight environment model.We realize the software and hardware designand system implementation of the unmanned helicopter flight control system and groundstation.Finally, through design the communication module of MATLAB, FlightGear, remotecontrol, flight control computers and ground station, we realize the simulation system. Andby running the, analyzing the experimental results, we verify the practicability of thesystem.
