As its advantages of good environmental adaptability, no casualty, good concealing and high survivability in battlefield, unmanned helicopter has great application prospects in both military and civil fields. Based on the design of unmanned helicopter flight control system project, this paper mainly studies on design, development and realization of the flight control system.Firstly, on the basis of analysis on its coupling characteristics with the linear differential equation, the decoupling control is realized primarily utilizing feedforward compensation control. The control law of attitude, height, velocity, position and engine loop are designed by classical control theory using cascade control structure. The problems of flight path controlling and flight track planning are discussed, and the coordinate turn and autonomous flight control are achieved.Secondly, the realization technology in engineering is researched in this paper, and the test of flight control computer, design of the flight control and measurement and control software are accomplished. After that, the flight control simulation is also studied, which helps to design and realize the hardware in the loop simulation according to the simulation demand and structure. The examinations of digital simulation, hardware in the loop simulation and engine test are accomplished, the examination results are analyzed and the simulation confidence is evaluated as well. The accuracy and effectiveness of the control are verified, which prove good characteristics of the flight control system.Finally, failure tolerant control about the sensor of flight control system is researched, and the detection and identification of attitude failure of a dual- redundancy sensor is realized utilizing the sequential probability ratio test, with the scheme of direct redundancy and analytic redundancy.
