This dissertation presents the history and the structure of the northern part of Baoji power system, also describes the load characteristics and main problems existing in operation. Aiming at the reactive power impact on power grid, caused by coal enterprises improving high power motor in electric load, and the harmonic pollution due to the use of variable frequency and variable current equipment in power system, the Static Var Compensator (SVC) is introduced as a reasonable and effective method based on the power and electronic technology. Applied to practice, this method has significantly improved the power grid quality and service life of equipment, reduced production cost and received good economic and social benefits.Starting with development of the compensating reactive power, this paper analyzes in detail the work principle and the control strategy of the Static Var Compensator. Combined with the actual user load in practical application, the scheme is given, including switching thyristor controlled reactor design, passive filtering channel design, control system software design and other aspects. At the same time, a comprehensive analysis of the overall efficiency and prospects of the SVC is applied. |
