Application Research Of220kV Digital Substation

Digital Substation is a developing concept. Its essential features are intellectualized device, communication network, unified model and communication protocols, etc. It is built in different layers by electronic transformers, intelligent primary equipment, secondary equipment in the network based on the IEC61850communication standard, and is a modern substation which can achieve sharing of information between intelligent devices and interoperability. Firstly this paper discusses the status of Substation Automation System and some problems which have been existed. Followed it analyzes basic structure and function of the IEC61850system and makes a number of schemes of Digital Substation in current transitional stages. Against electronic transformer and the merging unit used in Digital Substation, it analyzes the operating principle and its impact on the relay. Finally according to the function of Substation Communication Network, it proposes a network scheme based on standard IEC61850substation communication network structure.
