With the rapid development of industrial level, the mechanical seal, which is a common sealing device in chemical equipment, is making greater contribution. It is very critical to research the mechanical seal for the key role it is played in running of the entire installations. With the deepening of the mechanical seal research, there are several issues standing out gradually. The main research in this thesis is to research the influence of deformation factor to the sealing performance for mosaic type mechanical seal ring during the processes of manufacturing and assembling and puts forward the counter measures. The deformation problems of the mosaic type mechanical seal ring were researched by experiment and numerical simulations. Research content is divided into three parts:firstly, finding out the deformation factors at the end of the mechanical seal face mainly from the aspects of processing, assembling and working environment and providing a detailed analysis to explain how the factors affect the performance of mechanical seals. Secondly..conducting experimental studies. The preliminary study and further study of deformation problem at the end of the mechanical seal face were achieved respectively by the experiment of inlay and assembly and the seal tests under the dynamic and static conditions.; Thirdly, the final methods to improve the mechanical seal performance were put forward by researching to improve the parts, processes, materials, detections and analysis methodsIn this thesis, the deformation problems at the end of the mechanical seal face were found through in-depth researches above, which can guide the engineering application.
