Research On The Evaluation System Of Xinjiang Islamic Saint’s Tomb Constructions

The integration of Islamic culture, Han Chinese culture, and multi-ethnic cultures isa vivid phenomenon in the history of ancient Chinese architecture, and it is anessential element with which each ethnic groups develop and enrich their own culturalsystem. The saint’s tomb construction is one of the typical Islamic architectures, andalso an important part of ancient Chinese culture in the architecture history. Havingbeen affected by central-Asian Islamic and Central-China architectural styles,Xinjiang saint’s tomb construction forms its own characteristics.There are five chapters of the article in all. Chapter One mainly introduces thesurvey of saint’s tomb construction, its history, the relevant literature of heritagebuildings’ evaluation and protection decisions both at home and abroad, withpurposes and meanings of the research. Based on the philosophy connotation of theevaluation theory, the related methodology of the evaluation system of saint’s tombsand its characteristics, Chapter Two introduces and explains the self-value andprocedures of the evaluation system of saint’s tombs. Chapter Three is the core part ofthe article. After having carried on the field research of nearly hundred saint’s tombconstructions in Xinjiang area and collected relevant literatures and information, onthe basis of domestic and foreign relevant laws, regulations, achievements andexperience, and combining with the own status and characteristics of saint’s tombconstructions in Xinjiang, this chapter describes the historical, artistic, scientific andsocial value of saint’s tomb constructions by using detailed and specific words. Thedescriptive text which is scientific and objective constitutes the framework ofevaluation system of saint’s tomb constructions, and with relevant experts andscholars’ deliberation, it eventually forms the evaluation system of saint’s tombconstructions. Chapter Four is the result analysis. On the basis of the evaluationsystem, the text evaluates and classifies saint’s tomb constructions which weresurveyed, and verifies the scientificity and manipuility of the evaluation system. At last, the accuracy and scientificity of the evaluation system are specifically explainedby10typical cases of saint’s tomb. Chapter Five is the conclusion and theacknowlegement of the article. In the first part, the investigation achivements areillustrated by elaborations, and the prospect and development of the achievments arepresented. The second part is the sublimation and recognition of the evalualogy andthe evaluation system, and the valuable experience in the process of field research andauthor’s thesis writing.Based on the theoretical analysis, the framework and the classification of theevaluation system, and the thinking of cases confirmation, the article is aimed toprovide references for the evaluation of numerous saint’s tomb constructions inXinjiang, and for the protection of cultural relics.
