The Theory Construction And Practice In Shanghai Of Central Activity Zone (CAZ)

Some high level Central Activity Zone (CAZ) has become one of the mostimportant core functional areas and strategic area in current internationalmetropolis. Chinas urban construction practices increasingly feel the limitation of thefunction of CBD, objectively call for CAZ which can be a diverse economic spatialcarrier. Based on such background, I choose the Central Activity Zone(CAZ) as my graduation thesis topic, tries to break through the limitation oftraditional CBD development, draw lessons from foreign successful experiences,introduce the theory and practice of Central Activity Zone (CAZ), to furtherpromote the construction of new type of urbanization in our country, build thebeautiful China. Purpose of this study was to explore the citys Central Activity Zone(CAZ) of the basic theoretical propositions and practical application problems.Through built up the CAZ theory framework, and summarizes the successfulexperience, to provide relevant theory and practice guidance.Full text consists of seven chapters, mainly divides into four parts：theintroduction, analysis of theoretical research, the main body and the relatedconclusion：The first part is introduction (chapter1), mainly puts forward the concept of thecentral activity zone (CAZ). Introduce the research background, research significance,research ideas and research methods.The second part is theory study (chapter2and3), based on the literature reviewboth at home and abroad research, define and analysis the "CAZ", thenusing the related theory foundation, built up the theoretical framework ofCAZ from the dimension of the space and industry. Analyzed the relationsbetween CAZ and business tourism, business tourism is one of the importantfunctions in CAZ, CAZ is the main space of business tourism activity carrier, bothpromote each other, restrict each other.The third part is the main body analysis (chapter4and5), this is a core part of thisarticle. At the macro level, analysis Shanghai CAZ; At the micro level, analysis Hongqiao business district CAZ.The fourth part is the conclusion (chapter6and7).There are several highlights in my paper: firstly, from the perspective of this newconcept of "CAZ", expand the CBD, TBD, RBD research category of theoreticalknowledge, and carries on the new concept of "CAZ" definition and interpretation;Secondly, built up tne CAZ theory frame, analysis the relations between CAZwith business tourism; Again, this study based on two perspectives: one is the macroand micro perspectives, the other is domestic and overseas perspective; Finallythe conclusion is use for reference which based on practice experience abroad.
