In recent years, logistics is a new sunrise industry in our country, along with the development of society, the importance of logistics industry appears gradually. Car as convenient and fast transportation tools to the logistics industry has brought great economic benefits. Therefore, it is especially important for logistics enterprise to carries on effective regulation to vehicles.Vehicle monitoring system can be used in logistics for real-time monitoring, management and scheduling, also it can improve logistics management efficiency, and reduce management cost and ensure the safety of the vehicle. However, the existing vehicle monitoring systems are expensive, and a lot of logistics enterprise flinch. Especially for the small and medium-sized logistics enterprises, they doubt the cost of the investment can bring more benefit. This paper puts forward a kind of vehicle location monitoring system combination of GPS technology, GPRS technology and Google Earth software. It can not only meet the logistics vehicle monitoring requirements, at the same time, can reduce the cost, because the free version of Google Earth with its powerful function is used.It can meet the needs of the general logistics enterprises.First of all, this paper introduces the GPS technology, the wireless network communication technology and Google Earth software secondary development, and analyzes the advantage of Google Earth comparing with the traditional electronic map. Based on this, the system solution is determined. The whole system is composed of vehicle terminal, communication link and monitoring center. In hardware part, the circuits are detailed designed, including on-board terminal GPS module, GPRS module, liquid crystal display module and STC12C5A60S2single chip as main control unit.Secondly, the system software design divides into vehicle terminal program design and monitoring center software design. The vehicle terminal program design includs extraction GPS positioning information, the realization of the liquid crystal display module and GPRS communication design; Monitoring center composed by GSM module and PC, and complet the interface design, form initialization, serial ports communication, short message sending and receiving, database design and Google Earth related functions using VC++. The key research is about Google Earth secondary development in VC++environment, through the Google Earth COM API and KML, realizing connection and embedded Google Earth, vehicle positioning display and path tracking, saving screenshot. Finally, the module and system were tested, and analyses on the experiment results were made, verifying the feasibility of the system. In the on-board terminals, liquid crystal displayed real-time time, latitude and longitude position information, GPS data were sent to the monitoring center through GPRS network; In the monitoring center, the positioning information were displayed, short message could be sent and received, vehicle information and alarm information could be queried, and at the same time, we could see the remote vehicle of three dimensional position and path in Google Earth. In static experiments, the real position and Google Earth location position maximum deviation was about6.11m.In Dynamic simulation experiments, Google Earth on real-time rendering trajectory basic can reflect the real walk path. The whole system can meet the general logistics vehicle positioning monitoring requirements. At last, high precision S86TGPS receiver was experimented, and the location error was about2.16m.Comparing to REB-3571GPS module, it improvs positioning accuracy, but the cost is very high, so it is suitable for logistics companies whose monitoring demand are high and economic strength are strong.
