| As an important of the vehicle, the vehicle body structure is formed mainly by sheet metal with welding spots. The number and layout of welding spots have an important influence on the structure performance of the car body. The unreasonable layout of welding spots may lead to increase welding equipment cost. For these reasons above, it is of great importance for reducing the cost of welding equipment and improving the integrated performance of car body structure to research the optimization design of the position of weld spots in the car design.Through a domestic car, the stiffness and layout of welding spots of car body was studied. Based on the CAD model offered by a company, HyperMesh software is used to generate mesh and set the boundary conditions, then to analyze the static rigidity and modality of the car body model. According to the result of the analysis, evaluate the performance of car body. And set the spot welds as the design variables and the minimum of the weighted strain energy of the car body stiffness to optimize the layout of the welding spots using the topology optimization method provided by OptiStruct software.Through the optimization of the layout, the number of the welding spots is reduced by26.7%. The feasibility and validity of the optimization method of welding spots layout is proved, which provides a theoretical basis for the layout of welding spots of other welding structures. |
