Spot weld layout design has great influence on the strength, stiffness and crashworthiness characteristics of automotive bodies.A hatchback domestic car is given as an example in this paper, with the design space of spot weld, with the objectives of minimizing the weighted strain energy of different conditions. The optimization of the spot weld layout of the car body is performed by the topology optimization method provided by OptiStruct, then through the analysis and contrast of mode, stiffness and crashworthiness characteristics to verify the reasonable of the spot weld layout optimization method, provides a theoretical basis for spot weld layout of other jointing structural. The contents of the dissertation include:1)The model is built by software CATIA and then meshed in the HyperMesh, build finite element model of different conditions.2) Using the FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software HyperMesh to analysis the modal and stiffness of the BIW (Body In White) at different conditions.3)Modal experimental analysis of BIW;4) Using OptiStruct to optimize the spot weld of the car BIW by the topology optimization method provided by it.5)Reanalysis the modal and stiffness of the BIW by HyperMesh at different conditions.6)Analysis the crashworthiness characteristics of BIW before and after spot weld layout Optimization by the software Ls-Dyna.
