With the development of science and technology, realizing the centralized automaticcontrol of low voltage distribution network has became the main trend in the power system.Installing reactive power compensation equipments in the low voltage network bringssignificant economic and social benefits. It can reduce the flow of reactive power and thepower loss in the power grid, and improve the power quality. At present, reactive powercompensation equipments of different capacity have been installed in some low voltageareas, and contribute a lot. But for all power networks, the centralized control andscientific management of the reactive power compensation can’t meet the requirement ofthe smart operation. So the research and development of reactive power automatic voltagecontrol system in the low voltage distribution network is very necessary.The centralized automatic control system of the reactive power in the Under10kVdistribution network consists of server management software, reactive power compensationdevice, voltage monitoring device, etc. Management software gets the real-time voltageand the power of parts of all nodes through GPSR or RS485network, and gets the wholetrend of the distribution of the power distribution network, then does the capacitor cuttingbased on the reactive power optimization objective function.For the front to back power flow algorithm, its algorithm is mature, its convergence isgood, and it is suitable for application in the radiant power distribution network. This paperadopts the improved front back flow algorithm, calculates the power flow based on datesof some nodes, and simulates the operation of the whole power distribution network withthe reactive power optimization objective function to verify the validity and practicabilityof the theory. The result shows that the whole distribution network can achieve optimal thebest with reactive power compensation according to the algorithm.In the system, reactive power voltage management software in the distributionnetwork is the major work of this article. The software is the Web application with three layers design structure, and it can be divided into six modules: homepage, operation logmanagement module, user management module, communication module, equipmentmanagement module and reactive monitoring module. Home page is designed withdifferent types of registration and login; Communication management module is used inthe voltage monitoring devices and reactive power compensation device, and displays thesituation of terminal; Equipment management module is used to set the of reactive powercompensation device,such as capacity and compensation parameters; Reactive powermonitoring module displays the whole running situation of the distribution network withreactive power compensation based on front to back flow algorithm and minimumoptimization goal function.The centralized automatic control system of the reactive power in the Under10kVdistribution network in this paper has the global perspective, stable function and goodinterface. Through the system, the reactive power control of the whole power distributionnetwork can be achieved.
