With fierce competition in the market of heavy-duty truck, it has put forward higher requirements, and the development of automobile technology, also makes the heavy duty automobile design obtained more options, such as new engines, multi-gear transmissions, heavy-duty axles and so on. Therefore it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on matching technologies of heavy duty vehicle power and transmission system.The traditional method of design is done by designers with their experiences to select each component and its parameters, to estimate automobile performance, then to manufacture prototypes, take road test and evaluate the vehicle power performance and fuel economy. After that, the prototype vehicle can be improve, and retest, until its performance finally satisfy the requirements. The design of heavy duty truck usually has a long period, a high cost, and a blind selection of parameters of the components, so it is likely to miss the better option and cause personnel and financial waste. Computer analog simulation can optimize the selection scheme, and eliminate the unfavorable effects during the vehicle road test which are caused by drivers, road conditions, weather conditions and other factors. Hence it has a good comparability and repeatability. Computer simulation can make designers quickly and economically select the most favorable alternatives during new car designing and old vehicle improving from a lot of matching design schemes. The optimization design of transmission parameters based on computer simulation, can directly produce an optimal scheme for transmission parameters.The CRUISE software, which is developed by Austria AVL List Company, is advanced simulation analysis software used for the research of power, emission and brake performance and the fuel economy of vehicle. For its flexible and convenient modularized design concept, CRUISE can build model and emulate the power and drive system of arbitrary configuration. In the process of vehicle development, CRUISE can be used for the matching of power system and drive system, the forecast of vehicle performance and the computation of complete vehicle simulation. It also can be used for the type selection of engine, transmission and tyre, and optimizing their matching with vehicle. Moreover, it can be used for the development and optimization of the power, drive and control system of mixed power vehicle and electric powered vehicle.This paper will do simulation analysis on power and drive system of certain type of F3000tractor by CRUISE software, and directly put forward the preferred plan for the parameter of drive system and guide product development. The simulation analysis has the advantage of low cost, short time and high accuracy. |
