The Study On The Application Of Regional Features In The Urban Square Design

Urban square,which is an important place that provides people contacting contacts,enjoying the view,entertainment,having a break and so on. Now,we need to research and develop how to design the urban square which is rich in regional features.This paper started with expounding the definition, characteristics and classification of urban square and summarizing the definition and characteristics of the regional features.By analyzing Dujiangyan People’s Square and Nanjing Hanzhong Gate Square which is the successful designs of domestic urban square to summarize. the regional factors which effect the design of urban square and the carrier which is express the regional features of the urban square.The regional factors which effect the design of urban square include natural environment, social culture, economy and other elements. The carrier which is express the regional features of the urban square include buildings,plants,facilities,paving,lighting and hue.By the study of the Ordos Bronze Cultural Square to analysis how to express the regional features by buildings,plants,facilities,paving,lighting and hue. To summarize the design features against the natural environment, social culture, economy and other elements, and to supply the suggestion about the shortage of water selection of plants,facilities and so on. In the end to summarize some principles and methods of regional design about urban square design, hope that it would be referenced for design a beautiful urban square which express the integrity and diversity of the regional features.
