Study On Optimized Design Method Of Contemporary Planning Exhibition Hall

The urban planning exhibition hall (PEH), as a new type of museum architecturewhich displays the achievements of urban construction and the development direction ofurban planning, has attracted more and more attention during the process of rapidurbanization in China. After ten years of development, PEH has become an importantplatform for publicizing the city’s identity, presenting the planning concept, promotingcivic engagement and advocating "sunshine planning", so that it can reflect thedevelopment idea of the human-oriented concept in contemporary cities.The design of PEH at the present has already become a complex subject which isdirectly related to the harmonious development of cities. On the one hand, as the one ofimportant exhibition space for public, with urban planning exhibition as the maincontent, the PEH has been attached great importance to its design quality by thecommunity. On the other hand, because of the close link between PEH and city, thedesign of PEH needs to be integrated with the actual conditions of local culture andeconomic development, so that it can reveal the charm of city. During the designprocess, the architect need to take some targeted design method based on the functionand technical characteristic of PEH, instead of simply copying the common designmode of museum architecture, to raise the quality of design.Therefore, this paper regards the design method of PEH as the object of research,and summarizes the influence factor of design by analyzing the basic properties of PEH.The paper also tries to construct an optimization method of design about PEH, and givesan example to prove the validity of this method at final, to provide some theoreticalsupport for future design works.This paper which mainly centers on the design practice is constituted by four parts:The first part is the first chapter which mainly explains the background of thesubject selection and briefly expounds the basic concept, the object of study and therelated researching status in domestic and abroad, to lay the foundation for the paper.The second part is the second and third chapter. The former summarizes the basiccharacteristics of PEH through horizontal comparison; the latter is the update of designconcept, which is based on the three aspects of the design of PEH which is includinghumanities and theories, architectures and functions, sciences and technologies. The third part is the fourth and fifth chapter which is also the key chapter of thispaper. Based on the analysis of existing problems, the fourth chapter brings forward anoptimization method of design about PEH which takes the design process as the carrier,and discusses from four stages of programming, strategy generating, concept design,and project development, to improve the design quality. In the fifth chapter, an author’sdesign practice-Yuxi planning exhibition hall design is given to illustrate the specificapplication of the optimization method, to further prove that the method is rational andfeasible.Finally, the fourth part is the sixth chapter which makes a summary and looksforward to the future development trends of PEH.
