Natural lighting artapplication in landscape design will be the influence of medium, the medium can bedivided into transparent dielectric, translucent plastic, and opaque mediumthreecategories, different medium of light and shade is obvious the different transmission,reflection, refraction, diffraction effect, thus forming different effects.In this paper through literature, field survey, case study, analysis and deductionmethod, lists a large number of the actual landscape engineering case, to demonstratehow natural light as art elements in modern landscape practice application, byintroduction of theory.Shadow art in modern landscape design in the specific application can be dividedinto four aspects--function, space, art and the mood.
