Research On Elements And Promotion Strategy Of The City Features Of The Coastal Estuaries Harbour City Of New Area

The city features is a significant morphological characteristics to distinguish thecity. However, the city features presents a dilemma for development as a result ofglobalization: The old city lost its features, while new cities is the lack of features.The coastal estuaries harbour city is an important window for China external displaycharacteristics, because of its long history and geographical features which hasobvious identifying. Furthermore, as it goes on to the coast, coastal new area hasbecome another focus of urban development. It became an important carrier offoreign show the city’s character and inherited the old town features context.This paper understands and summarizes qualitative and quantitative research ofthe city features at home and abroad. Then, selects the coastal estuaries harbour cityof new area as the object of study. It uses a research method of reviewing literatureand analyzing comprehensively to generalize influencing factors and formationmechanism of the city features. At the same time, it summarizes related elements ofthe system from the perspective of physical，conscious，industrial essential factor.Through the case study of the distinctive characteristics of domestic and foreigncoastal the estuary port cities and new, it proposes overall strategy and philosophyconcerning city feature from the perspective of inheritance and innovation.In addition, taking the needs of the applicability and operability of the study,the paper also chooses Tianjin Binhai New Area（TBNA）as a case. First of all, itsummarizes the features elements system of the Tianjin Binhai New Area（TBNA）.Secondly, it proposes Shaping, mining and protect programs concerningthe city’s character. Finally, it draws the overall strategy to enhance its urbancharacteristic from the perspective of urban planning and other aspects.
