| For improving the security of the primary and secondary schoolscomprehensively after Wenchuan Earthquake, government has implemented theSchool Safety Project in the nationwide, namely seismic appraiser and strengtheningfor the school buildings. Currently, the choices of seismic strengthening scheme forbuilding structures in our country mainly depend on the experiences of professionals, which are made with a certain degree of subjectivity and neglected overallperformance of the seismic strengthening for existing buildings. In addition, reasonably making a choice of seismic strengthening scheme are more difficult for thelimit of existing conditions in seismic strengthening design of existing buildings. Forthe existing problems in seismic strengthening analysis and design, the article is madea simulation analysis on seismic strengthening for the actual project case, whichaccurately assess the seismic performance of the original structure and reinforced one,and discussed the seismic strengthening scheme selection. The research and application of seismic strengthening techniques for existingbuildings at home abroad are introduced, and the current domestic seismicstrengthening techniques of reinforced concrete structure are summarized, withexplaining each realization and strengthening principle. The basic theories of theelastic-plastic analysis model on frame structure and the dynamic elastic-plastic timehistory analysis are introduced in detail. One art building of a attached middle schoolof university in Beijing City, is made a simulation analysis on seismic strengthening, with the combined method between static elastic analysis and dynamic elastic-plastictime history analysis, by the general structure design software PKPM and the largegeneral finite element analysis software MIDAS/GEN. Also energy dissipation, pasting steel plates and adding shear walls of the three schemes are taken to reinforcethe structure. Last comparative analysis of three methods is made from the view ofeconomy and construction. The results show that, energy dissipation technique cansignificantly improve the overall seismic performance of the structure withoutchanging the details of seismic design, pasting steel plates is a practical, effective andeconomical seismic strengthening method for existing buildings which are seriousshortage of beams and columns reinforcement, adding shear walls can greatlyimprove the seismic performance and make the seismic design details meet thespecification requirements by changing the structural system, and for differentstrengthening project, the reinforcement method should be taken which is the mostsuited to its characteristics and the highest cost-effective. |
