The energy situation of our country is increasingly serious and the energyproblem has become the bottleneck factors restricting China’s economic and socialdevelopment.To this end, our state are also paying more attention to the energy-saving work in various industries, and has proposed a series of guidelines. Urbanwater supply system is one kind of the industries which consume energy highly. Inour country, the efficiency of the pump stations is generally low and the design andlayout of the pipe network is not reasonable, which result in a lot of energy waste. So,to study the energy-saving control problem of the urban water supply systems in ourstate has very important practical and long-term significance.Firstly, based on the irrationality of the original control method for the watersupply of the water plant, the author decides to use variable-frequency controlmethod to realize the water supply control. In this paper,the author analyses theenergy-saving reason of this kind of method, focus on comparing the pros and consbetween three control methods, which are general frequency pump parallel operating,variable frequency constant pressure control and variable frequency adjustablepressure control.Secondly, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the practical energy-savingproject, establish a mathematical model of the energy consumption of the watersupply system. This energy consumption model consists of two parts, which are theentire network distribution energy-consumption model and pump parallel operationenergy-consumption model.Each model is a energy-saving optimization problem thathas linear constraints and non-linear constraints. And based on the the actualenergy-saving project, make the instantiation simulation study of the model,usingthe matlab genetic algorithm toolbox.Finally, considering the good energy-saving effects and control effects of thevariable-frequency control,design a inverter controller for the water supply systemin the actual project, giving detailed hardware and software design content. Practicehas proved that the water plant has saved about5%of the power energy for the usingof this controller, preliminarily achieved the energy efficiency goals of the waterplant energy-saving project.
