Inter-basin water transfer projects alleviate the problems of water shortageamong industry, agriculture and daily life in the water-receiving area and the areaalong the project, promoting economic development. Meanwhile, Inter-basin watertransfer projects is also a series of complicated and systemic engineering. It willexert a non-ignorable effect on the eco-environment of water-source area、water-receiving area and water transfer rout area, especially the water-source area. Theeffect can last in the long term, even permanently. The middle and lower reaches ofHang River is the centre of the economic development in Hang River basin, andmeanwhile central China’s rise in the national development strategy. With the south-to-north water transfer project built and put into use, it’s of significance to evaluatethe quality of eco-environment in the middle and lower reaches of Hang Riverobjectively. After collecting relative research achievements and investigating completedprojects, this thesis analyses the change of eco-environment in the middle and lowerreaches of Hang River based on “3S” technology and then evaluate the effect of themiddle route of south-to-north water transfer project. The main achievements in thisthesis are as follows:(1)The changes of land use is analyzed, by making a comparison between remotesensing data (i.e. Landsat and TM/ETM) of the years before construction of theproject and the H J-1A/B data of years the project completed.(2) Analyze the environmental factors how change, by using each April’sTERRA MODIS data in the nearly twelve years from the year of2001to2012.Through the establishing hierarchy model, the evaluation factor is divided into targetlayer, constrained layer, elements layer. Weight of each factor is tested by thedetermining matrix, until the data meets the requirement.(3) Through the analysis of the temporal change of the four indicators(vegetation index, vegetation coverage, land surface temperature and water area),analyze the character and magnitude of the influence factors.(4) According to the character and magnitude of the project’ influence, assessment of the eco-environment is divided into seven levels, such as extremely adverse impact, adverse impact, little adverse impact, common impact, favorableimpact, beneficial impact and very beneficial impact. According to each evaluationindicator’s actually observed value, weight and value level’s standard vector, calculatemembership vector of each level. It makes a summary of the achievements in the thesis and points out thedevelopment direction of further research. In the end, some pieces of personal advicewhich probably occurred in the middle route of the south-to-north water transferproject, are proposed.
