The failure mechanism of bridge deck asphalt concrete pavement has aways beenconcerned about one of the focus topics by road construction scholars and workers. Thebonding functional damage is the typical failure mode of bridge deck pavement, mainlyexpressed as interlaminar shear failure and interlaminar void. The shear stress at the interfacebetween asphalt pavement and waterproof adhesive layer, or between waterproof adhesivelayer and bridge deck, exceeds the shear strength of the corresponding boundary under thehorizontal force of vehicle loading, which will have a greater relative displacement at theinterface and result in shear failure of the pavement layer. In order to increasing the lifespanof bridge deck asphalt concrete pavement, asphalt pavement materials using high strengthperformance is of great significance.In this Dissertation, the performance test of shear strength and tensile strength was beencompared between the epoxy asphalt (HLN-7611and HLN-2451)and other asphaltmaterials(SBS asphalt and rain rainbow bonding material) in concrete bridge decks and steelbridge surface at the conditions of high temperature (50℃) and room temperature. The resultshow that the new epoxy adhesive material bonded materials as concrete deck and steel bridgesurface, whether it is in the state of the high and low temperature and different amount of statethan the SBS asphalt and rain rainbow waterproof adhesive material has a higher shear andtensile properties. Even higher than the concrete shear and tensile strength of the adhesivematerial under the same conditions as the adhesive material of steel deck. The actualengineering of new epoxy adhesive material as the bonding shear strength and tensile strengthof concrete bridge decks have reached1MPa, the performance was excellent. Test to obtain anew type of epoxy as a bonding layer material of the steel bridge deck and concrete bondingmaterial shear strength and tensile strength values can provide a reference for pavementstructural design. Morevoer, the key construction technologies of the new type of epoxyasphalt will be studied. Engineering practice will be applied, it will get obvious effects.Therefore, the superior performance of a new type of epoxy asphalt regarded as bridge deckwaterproofing adhesive layer materials and concrete materials and the reliable performance inengineering applications can been applied in steel bridge deck pavement, concrete bridge deckpavement, tunnel pavement and high way pavement engineering. It has broad applicationprospects.
