Ecological crisis and environmental protection has been commonly recoganizedas key concerns by the world today. Arcology now has proved its value. Along withecological context is turning into a popular background of architectural design,discussion on the topic of ecological form of architecture has been widely occured. Asecological architechture links human and the environment, its particularity andmultiformity would surely been included in the discussion. When exploring theconcept of ecological architecture, it is essential to understand the integration of onesingle structure and the city, as well as the involvement of individuals and the wholeenvironment. This is the process of discovering the harmonised relationship betweenarchitecture and environment, which is thought to be the basic concept underecological context. However, architecturers who chase ecological context did notfollow this single rule; structures under the context have created a multi-line model,surprisingly presented different styles.This article is generally based on the theory of architectural typology;systematically researches and discusses factors which would affect ecologicalarchitecture and its features. On the basis of history and development of ecologicalarchitecure, it outlines the exercise of modern ecological architecture using typology;and also explains in detail how different features play their roles in architecturaldesign. The paper particularly emphasizes on each element that affects types ofarchitecture, then gives a discussion in depth about formal characteristics and trend ofdevelopment of aesthetics. Generally speaking, the article aims to conclude allinternal connections between architecture and ecological context, as well as trend ofdevelopment of ecological architecture; attemps to bring valuable inspiration toChina’s modern ecological exercise.
