In the past few decades, ocean engineering has made a great progress and marineequipments have been updating all the time, so more and more marine equipmentinstallation and demolition projects come up. To large ocean platform demolitionprojects, the traditional crane ship can’t meet the project need, meanwhile, the largeand new type catamaran is more and more largely applied for its good liftingcapability and high work efficiency.The lifting capability of the crane ship is mainly determined by the design of thelifting system, so the structure analysis and optimization design of large and new typecatamaran is the key point to the crane ship design, namely the content of this article.Compare the traditional crane ship with the large and new type catamaran in thelifting structure, and do the research of the work specification and features of thecatamaran. The strength and stability analysis are done referenced to the method ofstructure analysis and optimization design of traditional crane ship, at the same time,the crane optimization model is set up according to multi-objective optimizationdesign theory. According to the structure optimization method of traditional crane shipand NOBLE DENTION document, the strength and stability analysis have been doneand the optimization numerical model has been built according to the multiple targetoptimization theory. The beam section size is used as the design variable, the strength,stiffness, stability and size requirement are used as state variables, the total weight isused as the final optimize target to do the optimization of the crane.The optimized crane is more reasonable and meets the strength and stabilityrequirement as the expectation.
