In our country, there are many historical and stylistic buildings with old age andvarious forms. masonry-timber building accounts for a large proportion. Althoughmany historical and stylistic buildings are not in accordance with current codes ofseismic design and appraisal of buildings, they still show good seismic performancehaving experienced several earthquakes. Studying on sesmic performance of thesebuildings can help us answer this question, then we can maintain and conserve thembetter. At the same time, we can gain new method to lessen buildings’ damnificationin modern structural design. The existing historical and stylistic architecture have nearly years of history, which experienced more than once earthquake, including tangshan earthquake of the1976.And many historical and stylistic buildings were reserved, which show goodseismic performance. In the paper seismic identification of Tianjin West Railway wascarried to assesse seismic capacity of the historic building. The reason was given thatwhy the historical and stylistic architecture have little frustrating effect during manyearthquake from the structural dynamic characteristics, structural system andconstruction quality aspects which can provid reference and use for the seismic designof modern architecture.Wooden floor is an important characteristics which is different from concretestructure. Based on the characteristics of the wood floor, the method was proposedthat wood floor can be simulated by the wood beam. Structural adjustment in modulusof elasticity of both directions wall makes the calculation results of the revised finiteelement model consistent with experimental results, which shows that the revisedfinite element model has been able to accurately reflect the stress of the structure. Theresults from inversion analysis are not in line with the actual situation of the structure, which indicates that the existing seismic calculation method can not fully reflect theactual force condition and there exist some deficiencies in current codes. Point out theshortcomings of the norms.According to the revised finite element model of the structure, both the overallmodal analysis and time-history analysis of the wooden floor and the concrete floortwo models were done separately. The following conclusions can be drawn from the analysis and comparison of the two models under the dynamic characteristics of thestructure: the wooden keel beam in wooden floor can improve the anti-torsion abilitythe structure and increase the torsional rigidity of the structure. The conclusion canalso be drawn that the seismic response of the wood floor model is smaller than theconcrete floor. At last, the paper introduced the advantages and disadvantages of different methodsabout the structure of the seismic retrofitting and applicable scope, and analyzes thesuperiority of the isolation reinforcement method in historic building seismicprotection.
