Energy depletion and environmental pollution have become urgent problemthat we must to face in today’s society. With the development of the electic vehicles, lithium iron phosphate as a cathode material of power battery has been widely used. The number of lithium-ion batterier will increase each year. Recycling of spentlithium-ion battery can not only reduce the impact on the environment, while alsobring some economic benefits. The study of recycling of lithium iron phosphatebattery is lack.Recycling of spent lithium-ion battery research has focused on the recycling ofthe battery cathode active material. Firstly, consider the effect of differert solvent onperformances of LiFePO4. The method using of the organic solvent requires heating, because the organic solvent is likely to be volatile, this method not only can causethe waste of organic solvents, may also pollute the air. Acid and alkali solutionmethod is more complicated process, and it needs continuous heating, which alsocaused a waste of resources. Alkali solution treatment is simp le process, and canachieve the recycling and reuse of the active substance.Secondly, the performances of LiFePO4that recycling from spent LiFePO4lithium-ion battery was investigated. The result show that it can achieve therecycling and reuse of the spent battery through this way. The first dischargecapacity of the LiFePO4material is130.9mAh·g-1(0.1C) and112.3mAh·g-1(0.5C),and the capacity retention are99%(0.5C) after100cycles.Fina lly, investigated theinfluence of calcination temperature on the electrochemical properties of therecycled materials. The sintering temperature of700°C recovery The electrodematerial that recoveride under700°C is better than the sintering temperature of600°C and800°C.
