With the advances of design theory and materials development, the main beamcross-section of concrete cable-stayed bridge has been greatly developed. Dense cablesystem leads to further reduce the height of beam, and the form that is main beam ofseparated side boxes are more and more used. Aiming at Chaoyang Zhujiang Cable-stayed Bridge which use this form of main beam, model test and theoretical analysishave been finished in this article, and hoping to have a deeper understanding of thisbridge static and dynamic mechanical properties.First of all, this articl builds up the integrated finite element model by usingMidas/Civil, based on a practical project Chaoyang Zhujiang Cable-stayed Bridge.Using rigid cable method to calculate the reasonable cable forces of cable-stayed bridgeand later established a variety of finite element models, including real bridge model andmodel bridge model, are based on this reasonable cable forces.Establish the shell model of the bridge, analysis of the original bridge deckeffective distribution width and lateral load distribution, simplify the design parametersof the edge box beam.In accordance with the principle of stiffness similar, the scale model of ChaoyangZhujiang Cable-stayed Bridge has been designed and produced. Established finiteelement model of model bridge by using Ansys, based on grillage method and Itabashielement method. Compared the results of the two kinds of methods with test data ofmodel bridge, proving the effecitveness of grillage method which is used to analysis thisform of bridge.Simulation analysis of real bridge and model bridge have been done by using Ansys.The each test section stress distribution of main beam under constant load has beenstudied, and analyse its shear Lag Effect. Summed up with stress distribution and ShearLag distribution law of main beam of separated side boxes, and given some guidance todesign this form of bridge.At last,established dynamic analysis model. Vibration feature of this bridge has beenanalysed. Compared with the same type of bridge, the results show that the bridge has agood dynamic performance.
