Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(POSS) is an nano organic and inorganicdoping body. It not only has good compatibility with organic and still improvemechanical, thermal properties, and it also has unique atomic oxygen resistanceability. So, in this paper, POSS can be used to modified Cyanate Ester (CE), to sethigh temperature resistant, better dielectric, excellent size stability, mechanicalproperties and the ability of atomic oxygen resistances as a whole. It provideexperimental and theoretical basis for the design and the selection of spacecraft’sstructure material.KH560was used to prepare the epoxy POSS by the hydrolysis method, and itsmicrostructure and properties were characterized by FTIR、XRD、TG. The resultsshow that Si-O-Si core frame structure and epoxy groups was existed inPOSS;Amorphous structure was the mainly crystal morphology of POSS;The goodthermal stability and high quality retention rate of POSS can be maintained at hightemperature.POSS was used to modified the EP/CE system, and its mechanical propertieswere characterized,another properties were characterized by SEM、DSC、TG. Theresults show that the modified resin system (including2%POSS) than beforemodification tensile, bending, compression performance were increased by32%,37.5%and40%; The toughness of the resin system was enhanced by POSS; Theinitial reaction temperature of the system was reduced obviously by POSS, thehighly resin curing temperature of CE was solved; The thermodynamics systemstability was enhanced by POSS.The plasma atomic oxygen equipment was used at experiment, the results showthat with the increase of the atomic oxygen radiation dose, the loss of unmodifiedresin system was increased like approximate linear, the resistance of the atomicoxygen ability of modified resin system was improved by POSS; the mechanicalproperties and the atomic oxygen resistance ability was achieved to the best whenthe content of POSS was2%in CE resin system.
