As one of the widely used spacecrafts, satellite plays an increasingly important rolein military reconcaissance, resource exploration, information dissemination and otherfields. The demand for design and function of satellite is higher in order to meet theneed of international competition and domestic demand. Partial reconfiguration is a newreconfigurable computing technology, and its appearance has satisfied the developmentof satellites. Through the multiplexing of system resource, it is possible to maintain andupdate the function of satellites in orbit, reduce the volume, power consumption, cost ofsatellite and meanwhile improve the resource utilization, design The research is mainlyon the application of partial reconfiguration in satellite run-time computing. First of all,the paper studies the partial reconfiguration in the fields such as divisions, superioritiesand methodologies. The analysis of partial reconfiguration will provide a theoreticalsupport for the application of partial reconfiguration for satellites. Then, according to the analysis of satellite run-time computing tasks, mathematicalmodels, including satellite dynamic model and satellite attitude model, are built. PDcontrol algorithm and large angle control algorithm are used to meet the demand ofsatellites under different conditions, so as to build a complete satellite run-timecomputing task model, and use MATLAB to achieve the mathematical simulation.Combined with the partial reconfiguration, an embedded system is established. Thepaper studies the microprocessor MicroBlaze, AXI bus and ICAP controller; and PDcontrol algorithm and large angle control algorithm are designed as reconfigurationmodules and realized by FPGA. Besides, a functional simulation and a hardwareco-simulation are done to compare with mathematical simulation Aserialcommunication protocol is also formulated in this chapter. Finally, the paper construts the satellite run-time computing system consisting of areconfigurable system and a real-time computing system. The reconfigurable systemconsists in building hardware platform and doing corresponding software development, such as: timer, ICAP, serial send and receive module, and the partial reconfigurationmethod based on EAPR. In the real-time system, the test uses RS232as the datainterface between the satellite dynamic model and the satellite attitude model.A final test on the time consumptions in partial reconfiguration, satellite computingperformance and hardware resources is implemented, The results indicate that satelliterun-time computing system not only has achieved partial reconfiguration only taking36ms, but also can effectively control the attitude during the control period500ms.Furthermore, compared to the system not using partial reconfiguration, satellite run-time computing system saves almost50%of hardware resources.
