The short cylindrical piezoelectric motor is a kind of traveling wave rod motor whichis based on plane vibration mode. The motor is mainly composed of a rotor and a statorwhich consists of elastomer and piezoelectric ceramics. With two-phase voltage signals, itutilize inverse piezoelectric effect to stimulate two bending vibration modes of the stator. Two bending vibration modes in the stator end combined into a traveling wavet o driverotor to rotate by friction. Because of control performance, making easy, simplecomposition, the motor as micro-actuator will find its broad application. One short cylindrical piezoelectric motor is designed and the driving principle of themotor is analyzed in this paper. The theoretical calculation model is set up. Based onDonnell theory, the dynamic differential equation is set up. Its free vibration naturalfrequencies and modal functions are solved out, and that the effects of the parameters onnatural frequencies and modal functions are analyzed.Based on the mode superposition method, the forced vibration responses of the thestator is investigated. The Forced response equation is deduced. The dynamic responseunder the exciation in different places of stator are solved out. The effects of changingparameters on forced vibration responses is investigated.Stator model is simulated by ANSYS software. Through the modal analysis, therequired nature frequency of the stator model is solved out and compared with thetheoretical analysis, The changes of natural frequency with the relevant parameters areanalyzed.Through the transient analysis, the displacements of the stator in different timeare solved out.The control model of the motor system is set up and the simulation model is set up inMatlab/simulink. Based on the PID control theory, Voltage-speed control is studied andeffect on control performance is discussed. The structure design of short cylindrical piezoelectric motor is finished, and themodel machine is manufactured. The test experiment of The short cylindrical piezoelectricmotor is completed. The test results and the finite element analysis results are compared and analyzed...
