The fatigue failure is the phenomenon of destruction of goods or materials after a certainnumber of stress cycles. Fatigue failure is a very common phenomenon, it is seen everywherein the aerospace, construction and machinery and other fields. The study on fatigue damagehas more than100years of history, and some areas have formed a complete theoretical system.The phenomenon of fatigue damage is very common in the packaging field, but there is littleresearch in this area. Therefore, expanding the study of fatigue damage in the field ofpackaging is necessary and have important practical significance.In this paper, the object of this research is02corrugated box. The fatigue properties ofthe corrugated box were discussed by fatigue damage test, fatigue residual strength test,amplitude fatigue test and finite element analysis by ANSYS.Through the fatigue damage test of the corrugated box, the result indicated that the formof corrugated box is buckling fatigue failure. After analysis of the experimental data, the curveof the corrugated box and the corresponding mathematical models and humidity-life curve isobtained.The amplitude fatigue test is carried out to study corrugated boxes fatigue damagecharacteristics under different load sequence and overload conditions. The result found thatfor this structure the Miner guidelines is conservative. When corrugated board structuredamage, the Miner damage are greater than1, and the loading sequence have a significanteffect on the fatigue life.Through the fatigue residual strength experiment of corrugated box, the result indicatedthat the fatigue residual strength of corrugated box which was conducted a certain number offatigue vibration was greater than the compressive strength of corrugated box which was notcarried out the vibration, and the rise interval of compressive strength was between3%to15%.Through the observation and analysis, this paper summarizes there are two main causes of therise of corrugated cardboard structural fatigue residual strength, one is through the fatiguevibration, the height of the structure’s each side goes accordant, the other one is when thestructure and the linking piece contact range increases, the restraint increases, so that theconstrained system stability improves. Through the transient dynamic analysis by finite element software of ANSYS, theprocess force distribution and load changes while it was carried out corrugated boxes fatiguevibration were obtained, which verifies the formation of the carton yield buckling mode andmake the test more convincing.Based on the current transport packaging design method, combining with this researchachievements and following the limited life design principles by adopting probability fatiguedesign method, the fatigue design scheme which is suitable for the packaging engineering wasproposed. |
