| Thwart wise motion controlling system applied in tufting machine is new technology based on original machine. Servo controlling replaces cam gear, which improving the agility and efficiency of producing, decreasing the cost of producing, and increasing the competing opportunity. To developing tufting machines, this technology means more sense and will be applied widely.In the first, the paper introduces the principle and reason why the machines need this kind of motion of thwart wise motion. Based on analyzing the disadvantages of cam gear , advantages of servo controlling, and differences of three controlling methods, give a half-loop controlling system with motion controlling card - PMAC2A-104/PC and servo motor. And analyze the system and the way how to choose the model according to motion.The paper introduces the system flows and functions of the motion controlling system, analyzes and explains the motion controlling program. Because the motion controlling card can run many programs in the same time and immediately, this kind of controlling function just meet the practice operation of transverse motion.Based on the principles of PID adjusted principles of motion controlling card, introduce the method how to adjust the PID parameters manually, and improve the motion controlling precision and response speed to meet requests.The write studies all hardware functions of the controlling system, how to operate these hardware, how to adjust correlative parameters according to tests results, how to connect these hardware, how to run programs.
