Polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) is a new type of semi-crystallization aroma group thermoplastic engineering plastic, which macromolecular chain containing rigid benzene ring, supple ether bond and carbonyl groups with regular structure that affords excellent mechanical performance, chemical resistance, creeping resistance, anti-radiation, anti-fatigue and remarkable thermal stability. Carbon fiber is a reinforcing material with high strength, high modulus, low density, which has prominent performance of extraordinary enduring temperature, corrode-resistance, lower thermal expansion coefficients, high thermal conductivity, good conductance and so on. As high performance structural strengthening material, the carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) has been applied widely in numerous fields.Carbon fiber reinforced PEEK composites were prepared by compression molding. The thermal and mechanical properties were characterized by differential scanning (DSC), thermogravimetry (TGA) and mechanical tests; scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to observe the surface topography of composites. The results show that the preferred molded preparation process parameters as follows:processing temperature385℃, retention time30min, pressure was3MPa; dwell time of3h and the pressure of5MPa. The flexural strength of products has come up to1783MPa, tensile strength approaches327MPa, decomposition temperature is578℃, further proof of composite materials have excellent thermal stability-mechanical performance.
