| Hot dip galvanizing process is a modern industrial production corrosion of metallicmaterials in the main method, the growing market demand for hot dip galvanizingprocess makes more and more people’s attention and importance. In the hot-dipgalvanizing process temperature, the steel sink roll in a continuous operation of theprocess occurs with molten liquid zinc corrosion and wear effect, the sink roll sooneclipse wear, abrasion and scrap, which is hot dip zinc industry has one of the mostdifficult problems. Sink roll frequent maintenance and replacement, not only will reduceproductivity, labor intensity will increase, bringing a great obstacle to the production, butalso increased the consumption of zinc. In order to improve the service life of sink roll,necessary experiments which is about corrosion and wear of sink roll must be studiednow. sink roll corrosion and wear experiment focuses on parameter stability andrepeatability of experimental environment. Because of the lack of equipment, so lots ofconditions can not be guaranteed. Only the equipment parameters and operation factors isdetermined, the repeatability can be stable, then the data will be reliable.In order to meet the above requirements, research the resistance of differentmaterials or coatings to molten zinc corrosion and wear, a testing machine is developedfor this purpose. The testing machine can be simulated hot-galvanize sink roll workingconditions in the molten zinc, Provides a research platform for hot-galvanize sink roll ofcorrosion and wear failure mechanism analysis. By using this machine, the corrosion andwear of the Al2O3coating (NiCoCrAlY as the priming coating) and Co-Cr-WC coating inmolten zinc is tested with the SEM-EDS analysis, test subjects include the comparison ofthe change of structure and composition of3days’ corrosion,5days’ corrosion, and10days’ corrosion specimens, and the failure mechanism of the coating is analyzed. Seenfrom the test results of two coating corrosion and wear, the Al2O3coating is better thanthe Co-Cr-WC coating in the performance of resisting corrosion and wear. In the processof corrosion and wear test Co-Cr-WC coating almost all fall off, liquid zinc can corrode parent metal directly. parts of Al2O3coating fall off, Liquid zinc only corroding toNiCoCrAlY priming coating, not in contact with the parent metal. Results show that theAl2O3coating (NiCoCrAlY as the priming coating) resistance to corrosion and wearperformance is better. |
