Virtual gear measuring center (VGMC) is a software used for simulation of gear measuring center. Measuring accuracy of gear measuring center is affected by many factors. Among those factors, geometric errors and motion errors are the main factors. Therefore, the mathematical model of geometric errors and motion errors of gear measuring center are established, the combination of mathematical model on the VGMC are researched. The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the characteristics transformation matrix between adjacent bodies are analyzed according to the principle of coordinate transformation. The topological structure and the geometric error model of the gear measuring center by the theory of multi-body kinematics are established. Then obtaining specific expression of a first-order error model, analyzing the influence of geometrical and motion error of the measuring accuracy.Secondly, an error module of the VGMC system is established according to the functional requirements. The combination method of error module is determined.Finally, the measurement results of virtual involute model shows that the motion error does not affect the measuring accuracy, but the geometric error does, consistent with the theoretical analysis. Geometric error on normal direction of the involute will be larger effects on the measuring accuracy. It prove that the measurement program of involute model and error module is correct.
