Abstract/Summary:
Foam is often used as insulation materials, packaging materials, building materials,agricultural materials, thermal materials, electrical materials, mechanical parts, medicalmaterials and so on. But because most of the foam is flammable and insulation, it limits thefoam used in many fields. On the issue of flammable, when the foam is applied to soundinsulation, packaging, construction, agriculture, thermal, electrical, mechanical parts, medicaland so on, it may be caused fire hazard. If the fair happens, it will not only cause damage toproperty of the state and the enterprise, but also cause personal injury. On the issue ofinsulation, when the foam is applied to sound insulation, packaging, construction, agricultural,thermal, electrical, mechanical parts and medical and so on, the foam may be caused sparksby friction and electrostatic shock. If the spark light flammable gas or combustibles (possiblythe foam itself), it will cause fire. However, there is some other harm of static electricity. Forexample: It requires the performance of military packaging must be antistatic in order toensure the safety of ammunition. It means that it produces a higher demand of foam in theaspect of antistatic. In any case, it is regrettable that products which have antistaticperformance are not very mature at present, and the foam which has antistatic performance israre. In this thesis, we are aim at preparing foam with the performance of flame retardant andantistatic in order to broaden the application of foam. To complete the objective of the study,we examine this thesis in the following six areas.(1) Preparation of melamine formaldehyde foam. By using melamine and formaldehyde,melamine formaldehyde resin is prepared by in-situ reaction. And then add n-pentane, sodiumbicarbonate, ammonium chloride, OP-10into melamine formaldehyde resin for preparation ofmelamine formaldehyde foam. On this base change the dose of a drug when the others arefixed. Select the best dosing quantity of n-pentane, sodium bicarbonate, ammonium chloride,OP-10in the manufacturing process of expanded graphite composite foam and flake graphitecomposite foam.(2) The preparation of expanded graphite composite foam and flake graphite compositefoam. By using melamine, formaldehyde, expanded graphite and flake graphite, melamineformaldehyde compound is prepared by in-situ reaction. And then add n-pentane, sodium bicarbonate, ammonium chloride, OP-10into melamine formaldehyde compound in the bestdosing quantity for preparation of foam. Change the adding dose of expanded graphite andflake graphite to produce a series of expanded graphite composite foam and flake graphitecomposite foam.(3) Representation of melamine formaldehyde foam, expanded graphite composite foamand flake graphite composite foam. Represent the morphology and structure of expandedgraphite composite foam and flake graphite composite foam by JMS and Infraredspectrometer.(4) The investigation on free formaldehyde content inside expanded graphite compositefoam and flake graphite composite foam. Measure the free formaldehyde content insideexpanded graphite composite foam and flake graphite composite foam by aspectrophotometer.(5) The investigation on the flame retardant performance of expanded graphite compositefoam and flake graphite composite foam. Measure the oxygen index of expanded graphitecomposite foam and flake graphite composite foam by oxygen index tester. And then find outthe change of flame retardant performance on expanded graphite composite foam and flakegraphite composite foam when we change the adding dose of expanded graphite and flakegraphite. Select the best dosing quantity of expanded graphite and flake graphite onpreparation of expanded graphite composite foam and flake graphite composite foam byconsidering the performance of flame retardant.(6) The investigation on the antistatic performance of expanded graphite composite foamand flake graphite composite foam. Measure the surface resistance of expanded graphitecomposite foam and flake graphite composite foam by the surface resistance tester. And thenfind out the change of antistatic performance on expanded graphite composite foam and flakegraphite composite foam when we change the adding dose of expanded graphite and flakegraphite. Select the best dosing quantity of expanded graphite and flake graphite onpreparation of expanded graphite composite foam and flake graphite composite foam byconsidering the performance of antistatic.According to the research above, by using melamine and formaldehyde, expandedgraphite and flake graphite, expanded graphite composite foam and flake graphite composite foam are prepared by in-situ reaction and foaming. At the same time, we find out that the bestdosing quantity of expanded graphite and flake graphite is2.500g on preparation of expandedgraphite composite foam and flake graphite composite foam by considering flame retardantperformance, antistatic performance and free formaldehyde content, they are the best of all thefoam we prepared.
